Outi Aalto

Who?

I’m Leading Legal Counsel at TELA and Master of Laws by education. I came to TELA in 2017 after having worked as legal counsel at Finance Finland. The earnings-related pension sector and system have become very familiar while at TELA, but there’s also a lot in common with the entire insurance industry and regulations. Among such issues are data protection matters and questions related to the performance of public administration, which are familiar from before.

Working groups

  • Advisory Committee for Legal Affairs
  • Group on Tax and Accounting Matters
  • Data Protection Group of the Finnish Centre for Pensions
  • OECD Working Party on Private Pensions
  • National working group for preparing the European Public Sector Accounting Standards (EPSAS) (Ministry of Finance)

Responsibilities

  • Legislation concerning the earnings-related pension sector
  • Secretary to the Board of Directors
  • Issues of EU law

Ask me about

  • When you want information on the sector’s views of legislative projects under preparation
  • When you want to discuss an interesting legal issue!

The pension system is like society in miniature, it also needs children to be able to do well.

In my spare time:

I spend time with my family travelling, staying at our cottage, being outdoors and sailing. Inspired by the children’s interests, I have dug out my old sheet music and returned to the piano.
